Mini-Families

Who Can Be Involved?

As a family going through this process ourselves, we created Mini-Families for the families of children experiencing selective mutism.

Mini-Families is a space created for the families of children experiencing selective mutism, as well as individuals aged 18 and over who have lived through this process themselves or are still living it.

The purpose of this space is to help families feel that they are not alone.

Although selective mutism is seen in approximately 1 in every 140 children, it is often not well recognized due to low awareness.

For this reason, families can feel alone during the process.

Our goal is to reach families going through this process and show them that we are one big family experiencing similar challenges.

What Can Be Done

You can fill out the "Join Us" form to join the Mini-Families community.

If you wish, you can share a small memory of yours by filling out the form in the "Real Stories" section for publication.

You can also join the Forum area exclusive to the Mini-Community.

In the Forum:
• Personal information is kept completely confidential.
• Using a nickname is sufficient.
• Age and process information can be shared in general terms.

The purpose of the forum is not to guide anyone,
but to help people going through the same path feel that they are not alone.

Sometimes, without writing anything at all,
just reading and knowing that there are families going through similar processes is enough.

Within the scope of Mini-Families,
online informational talks with the participation of professionals
and online or face-to-face meetings open only to families can be organized.

These events are for informational purposes.
Event invitations are sent to families via email
and participation is entirely voluntary.

What Won't Be Done Here?

Since Mini-Talks is not a therapy platform, child-specific assessments will not be requested from professionals.

Mini-Kits Sharing

Within the scope of Mini-Talks, I will try to deliver Mini-Kits to children whose therapy process is ongoing, within available resources.

All you need to do is fill out the "Mini-Kits Request Form" and get in touch.

As a big brother who has lived through my brother's journey and a LEGO enthusiast,

I believe that small personalizations that can be made in Mini-Kits

will positively affect children's motivation.

Whenever I can, I try to add special little touches for each child.
