Mini-Volunteers brings together people who want to contribute their time, skills, or presence to the wider Mini-Community.
You do not need to be a specialist in selective mutism to become involved. Volunteers may come from different ages, backgrounds, schools, universities, professions, or communities.
What matters most is a willingness to listen, learn, respect each child's pace, and take part without adding pressure.
Some volunteers may help with awareness, events, workshops, creative projects, or Talk-Spots. Others may contribute through design, technology, communication, organization, or simply by helping Mini-Community activities run smoothly.
There is no single way to be useful. Different skills, experiences, and forms of participation can all have a place in Mini-Volunteers.
A simple introduction helps every Mini-Volunteer understand the community, the role, and how to take part.
Start with the Join Us form . Each submission is reviewed so the role and intended way of contributing are clear.
New Mini-Volunteers receive a short Welcome Guide introducing Mini-Talks, the volunteer role, and its boundaries.
Mini-Volunteers may also be invited to short online Welcome Sessions .
Choose activities that fit your interests, skills, and availability. Child-facing activities include additional activity-specific guidance.
Mini-Volunteers can contribute in different ways across Mini-Community.
Support Mini-Volunteer Workshops, Mini-Talks events, and other community activities by helping with preparation, materials, and participation.
Share Mini-Talks resources, news, and awareness content within your community and help more people learn about selective mutism.
Help grow the Talk-Spots network by introducing Mini-Talks to everyday places, sharing information, and connecting interested venues with Mini-Community.
Turn everyday places and situations children may encounter into LEGO®-based Mini-Designs, including place-specific scenes created for Talk-Spots.
Mini-Volunteers support participation; they do not set communication goals or direct children to speak.
Activities involving children take place with family consent, clearly defined roles, and activity-specific guidance.
The role of a Mini-Volunteer is not to solve or direct, but to support, include, and stand alongside.
Mini-Kits may be used in Mini-Talks awareness activities, workshops, and selected community activities to introduce the different ways children can build, personalize, record, and play within Mini-Talks.
Mini-Volunteers can support these activities by helping with organization, setup, materials, and participation within the guidance provided for the activity.
Requests involving Mini-Kits are considered separately through the Mini-Kits Request Form .
